Escape, Relax, and Reconnect

Saba is unlike any other Caribbean island. Rising

from the sea like a green jewel, it’s the peak

of a dormant volcano covered in lush rainforest

and tropical life. Thanks to its rich volcanic soil

and humid air, the island is blanketed in orchids,

hibiscus, ferns, and graceful palms. Wild goats

wander the hills, lizards bask in the sun, and

tropical birds fill the air with song.

Below the surface, a whole new world awaits. You’ll find colorful coral reefs, volcanic pinnacles, and crystal-clear water with visibility up to 30 meters (100 feet). While Saba doesn’t have long sandy beaches, except for the small rocky Well’s Bay, its steep and rugged coastline makes it a paradise for adventurers who love hiking, exploring, and diving.

Explore the Saba Marine Park

Encircling the entire island, the Saba Marine Park protects one of the most pristine underwater environments in the Caribbean. Divers can explore everything from coral-covered walls to volcanic rock formations and warm underwater springs.

Top dive sites include:
The Pinnacles & Eye of the Needle:

Saba’s most famous dive area, featuring volcanic pinnacles rising from the deep.

Twilight Zone & Shark Shoals:

Deep dives with sandy patches, overhangs, and chances to see sharks, morays, and lobsters.

Hot Springs:

A rare site where volcanic heat creates pockets of warm sand.

Tent Reef & East Side Reefs:

Ledges, coral growth, and vibrant sponge communities.

Lava & Boulder Zones:

Coral-covered volcanic boulders, barrel sponges,
and even elkhorn coral in some areas.

More than 400 species of fish have been recorded in the park, including grouper, snapper, angelfish, parrotfish, and wrasses. You may also spot sea turtles, rays, nurse sharks, or occasionally hammerheads and manta rays. During the winter months, humpback whales sometimes pass near Saba and can even be heard underwater.

When to Go Diving in Saba

Diving in Saba is great all year round. Water temperatures range between 26–29°C (79–84°F), and visibility often reaches up to 30 meters (100 feet). The calmest seas are from December to June, but every season offers something unique, from migrating whales to blooming coral reefs.
